Chest Disease Hospital is one of the most famous tertiary hospitals in the State of Kuwait, where it cares for all adult cardiac, chest surgery, acquired and congenital heart diseases. At the beginning, the hospital's main  concern was to treat patients with chronic pulmonary diseases mainly Tuberculosis. After that Prof. Abdul Mohsen Al-Razzaq created a separate division to serve coronary artery diseases patients and to perform cardiac catheterization services in the hospital.

Chest Disease Hospital is the first and the main hospital in Kuwait to treat congenital heart diseases. During last decade, a large number of highly adult and pediatric cardiac specialized professionals joined the hospital and had a great impact on congenital heart disease services. There are 8 labs for cardiac catheterization that cover both diagnostic and interventional adult and pediatric cardiac cases. Two echocardiography sweets, each of them contains 8 rooms for adult, 8 pediatric and fetal echo labs. Other diagnostic facilities available are Nuclear Medicine Department, Magnetic Radiology Imaging and Computer Tomography Scan which are integrated teams where eachone plays their goals.  There are two surgical departments that are involved in the treament of patients: Cardiac and Chest Surgical Departments. The pediatric cardiac unit is under the care of adult cardiac surgical department. 

According to the latest statistics, the number of cardiac catheterization performed is around 9000 cases/ year. There are 4000  pediatric and adult echocardiographic studies and around 4000 nuclear medicine imagings performed per year. Chest Diseases Hospital is under a lot of renewal and still developing to improve the service quality of patients be it in pediatric, adult or even fetal cardiac divisions.
